"Awesome! We got an amazing taste of everything San Fran has to offer!"

This was a spontaneous tour that we took. We got a spot on it at 8pm the night before (leaving it a bit close) after being told that Alcatraz was sold out, but the concierge at our hotel said we could get to Alcatraz if we did this tour. It was meant to be and I am so glad! It was such a fun tour. The tour guide was a lady called Sonya and the driver was Mfame. Both were so much fun. Sonya knew so much about San Fran. You really get into the spirit of a safari, the vehicle the tour takes you in is really well designed, everyone can see everything really well. We stopped at a great spot for lunch. There were no delays and everything went really smoothly. I can't say enough. Highly recommended. A good idea to do it on your first day in San Fran so you can see where everything is and what you want to do on the other days. We only had 1 full day and it was the best way we could have spent it.

Mike was amazing tour guide, so much fun, so much knowledge and nothing too much trouble. Love San Francisco and Mike made tour even more special. We had the jeep shared with our friends and another family so it was even more personal. I would highly recommend Urban Safari Tour to all our friends.

We enjoyed our Urban Safari & Alcatraz Tour immensely. Mike and Mfalme (We won't ever forgot his dreadlocks!) were both fantastic. Mike was very knowledgeable and lots of fun. This is by far the best tour we have done in the US!!!

"Smile on my face all day long"

My fiancé and I had Sona as a tour guide. She was great. Funny and kept us involved throughout the tour. The best and funniest way to see and learn about San Fran. It would take you all day to see and do the things we did in a couple of hours and you wouldn't learn about the history or any secrets about movie sites etc. Great photo opportunity. Loved it, was one of the best things we did on our USA holiday.

"Awesome Urban Adventure!!!"

I want to thank you profusely for giving us the opportunity to experience the Urban Safari in San Fran. All of us had a brilliant day and so much fun. Our 7 year old daughter absolutely loved the tour and overall experience – especially Mfalme's hair! The Alcatraz add-on is very clever and makes for a very convenient full day of sightseeing. We thought our daughter would have had enough by the time we got to Alcatraz but she was buzzing so much from the tour, she made us follow her around the island instead of the other way round! Your tours are unique, and excellent value for money. It's fantastic that your tour guides are well-versed in Aussie culture and so can really get the group having a laugh and feeling like long lost friends. Our guide Mike was great value – definitely had the sense of humor down pat. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative, and we really appreciated the "sneaky" time at the Disney Museum and Fort Point. I honestly can't speak more highly of your company and what you have achieved – so massive congratulations to you, and your staff. You should be very proud! Much thanks and appreciation....keep doing what you doing.

"The Jungle Bus"

We were on a last minute trip to S.F. so had not pre-booked Alcatraz. Based on other reviews here on T.A. found that we could maybe take their tour and still get to go to the Rock. When I called and spoke with Daniel we were literally in the airport BART station and his tour had already started out for the day. Daniel did everything but set his hair on fire to accommodate us getting on that bus, including obtaining "the last pair of tickets to Alcatraz in the city". We met up with the tour which was underway at the Golden Gate stop greeted by our enthusiastic guide. Blankets and Coats were provided much needed even though a beautiful September day. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and passionate about his city. Lunch stop was at an organic-type market that had great vegetarian selections as well as choices for the carnies, too. We don't normally do this touristy kind of thing but it was such a great way to see a city like this that it's got me thinking I would look for something like it in the future in another place.

After travelling around China and Europe and finally arriving in San Francisco, we were jet lagged and had pre-booked from New Zealand and organized the tour for the next day. We thought we would probably sleep on the tour. No way. From the moment we got on we were laughing and what a unique experience.

This was far the best trip on our holiday, it beat the Great Wall, St Petersburg, etc. - certainly be recommending it to any friends that are heading your way. Excellent all round and you would be a fool to miss it. Thank you Urban Safari... "We loved it!"

The Urban Safari was a city tour with a twist! My husband and I really enjoyed it. The tour guide was most informative, and the driver had some interesting stories to tell also! We got a really great feel for San Fran - it's a great way to start your stay in a memorable city.

"So fun and a great way to see a little bit of everything."

We had a hoot on this trip, it was a little chilly in the open truck but the zebra/leopard print blankets helped. Mike our guide was funny and personable; he gave us some great hints on not to miss places and some general history as well.

A good value tour, informative and fun. Terrific guides who even carry hats, jackets and blankets for when that San Francisco weather turns cool. If you only have a limited time in San Francisco this is a great tour which includes ferry and Alcatraz tickets in the cover price.

"Brilliant Urban Safari Experience"

The San Francisco Urban Safari was one of the best things we did during our three week holiday in the US. They took us to places that were not shown on the usual double decker buses and there were plenty of photo stops along the way. The expedition leader (tour guide), Mike, was knowledgeable and witty. He was enjoyable to listen to and expressed information in a way that the whole family could understand. The company has been a delight to deal with, professional yet personable.

I would highly recommend this to all ages... My teen age sons and I enjoyed this trip immensely... The staff is the best! Mike... is a riot and the service is beyond anything I have experienced. Being a New Yorker that is hard to match!

Daniel is the owner with the "mostest"!!!! He calls and confirms the night before, also giving you tidbits ahead of the trip.

We spent 10 days touring the coast... and the Urban Safari was the highlight of our Trip!!

I am not the kind of person that generally does city tours but this company takes you to all the great things that this city has to offer. The tour guide was a unique character that made you laugh while educating you. No-one knows this city that Daniel. 10 out of 10 in my book. It's not just a tour its entertainment too.

I am lucky enough to have travelled to many cities around the world, and always use local guided tours to familiarize myself with the local area. Dan Oppenheim, you run an absolutely brilliant operation mate! Urban Safari - SFO was clearly the best city touring experience I have ever had the pleasure of participating in anywhere in the world! Not just an educational tour, but also a lot of fun with a true local "identity"! I particularly appreciated the stop to In & Out Burger for a quick breakie stop which helped me get over the night before!

I would enthusiastically recommend Urban Safari to anyone traveling to SFO. A MUST DO EXPERIENCE! Thanks Dan!

"Nothing else comes close, the best tour going!"

I came across these guys by chance and couldn't believe the follow up. Not only did they call me before the trip, but also took the time to arrange it so that I was able to quickly get onto BART and to the airport to catch my flight.

Mike was our guide and had to put up with a bus full of Aussies and our sense of humour. He was really on the ball and shared great knowledge of the area.

Overall the experience, people we dealt with (a big shout out to Daniel for being so awesome to deal with) and the places they took us to were well worth the money.

There is no rating high enough for this great tour!

"Best time ever"

My daughter and I were on a bus with all others from Australia. Texans and Aussies get along well. Mike was our tour guide and was really good at his job. We learned a lot about the history of San Francisco. Everything was very enjoyable. It was just as neat as our hot air balloon ride. I give it a 10 on a 10 scale. Thanks again for such a great time.
